It’s a busy and exciting time of year, with our 2024/25 summer season underway and Christmas just around the corner. Summer always seems to arrive earlier and last longer on Waiheke Island, compared with the rest of Aotearoa New Zealand, and we’re looking forward to welcoming visitors to our little patch of island paradise.
And there’s lots of news to share as we enter the summer season.
- We are New Zealand Tourism Awards winners!
- Our team is growing
- Our fleet is growing
- Ample availability with team and fleet growth
- An all-new Corporate, Incentive and Events offering
Winner – New Zealand Tourism Awards
Aside from the usual festive season merriment, the Terra & Tide family has another reason to be celebrating. We are delighted to share the news of our recent success at the New Zealand Tourism Awards, where Terra & Tide received the Tātaki Auckland Unlimited Tourism Excellence Award (Micro Business).
This was our first time entering the New Zealand Tourism Awards, and we were delighted to have our commitment to excellence and sustainability recognised and rewarded by the judging panel.
“Terra and Tide are an excellent business in all aspects demonstrating excellent results, they have achieved significant growth whilst keeping visitor feedback and reviews consistently high.
Terra & Tide has a deep commitment to sustainability and the protection of the very environment the business operates within.
Their commitment to actively conserving this unique environment has led to numerous community projects and achieving Zero Carbon Business Operations Certification.”
From the beginning, we have worked to create an exemplar of regenerative tourism that would be authentic about showcasing the natural and cultural heritage of our unique home. We are looking forward to continuing to build on the foundations we have created. #nztourismawards24
Meet our growing team

Robyn
We now have seven guides in our team, and they are all getting great reviews from our guests!
Robyn Woodall is one of our newest additions to the team, but she’s certainly not new to Waiheke – she has been an island resident for 22 years! During that time, she has been very actively involved in the community, helping with conservation work and raising her three children (one of whom is a highly successful international sailor).

Barbara
Barbara Lemoucheux is originally from France and is a native French speaker. She arrived on Waiheke Island 10 years ago via Reunion and New Caledonia. She previously worked as a flight attendant for Qantas Airways and now divides her time between working as one of Terra & Tide’s fabulous guides and working with local boutique accommodation, The Boatshed.
Barbara, Robyn and the rest of the Terra & Tide team look forward to meeting our guests from all over the world, providing personalised, immersive experiences, and sharing what makes Waiheke so special.
Our growing fleet
We now have three electric Mercedes eVito Tourer vans (6-seaters) and two Mercedes Sprinter vans (11-seaters) in our fleet: five new vehicles with a total capacity of 40 seats.
We have plans to further expand our fleet to 60 seats over the coming year, with additional vehicles available when needed for larger groups. We are proud of our investment in electric vans, which enables us to keep our carbon emissions very low despite our growth.
Summer 2024/25 availability
Thanks to the expansion of our team and our vehicle fleet, we still have ample availability over the summer season. Only a few days are currently fully sold out, so please feel free to contact us – we have a tour for everyone!
Introducing our expanded Corporate, Incentive and Events offering
We have been working on the expansion of our offering for Corporate, Incentive and Events groups, with our new, wider range now including:
- Our existing range of tours, which includes bespoke tour options, guided walks and cruises on the Hauraki Gulf
