Environmental writer Emma Marris, in a recent TED Talk, spoke of the need to get children interested in nature so that they will appreciate and value it.
While adults can enjoy walking for hours in a secluded forest, your average child needs a different sort of experience – possibly something closer to home where they can interact with the natural environment, and even where they can play. It could be a backyard, a local park or an empty section.
However you do it, make sure that you – and your children – get regular doses of nature! 🙂
