Our Ki Uta Ki Tai Experience (“Land and Sea”) is led by Dane Tumahai, a seventh-generation member of Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, and visits sites of cultural significance including Maungawhau, Okahu Bay and Takaparawhau (Bastion Point), finishing at the Pourewa native nursery and medicinal gardens. On the Auckland Signature Tour, your own Māori guide shares stories of the local iwi from Maungawhau and introduces Māori use of plants and medicine on a rainforest walk.
On Waiheke Island, our History & Heritage Tour explores te ao Māori, the impact of colonisation and the revitalisation of te reo Māori, with a visit to our community marae.
In Northland, learn about the cultural and historic significance of Waitangi at the Treaty Grounds on the Bay of Islands Explorer, or follow the journey of the great navigator Kupe on the Hokianga Explorer.
