Gabrielle and Bruce hosted our boisterous team of ten with finesse and grace. Bruce (mostly) managed the yacht while Gabrielle attended to us. Aside from swimming, sailing, stand up paddleboarding and singing, we drank a lot of exceptionally good champagne, complemented by their beautiful cuisine. Nothing was too much trouble. We had such an enjoyable time and thoroughly recommend Terra and Tide. We'll be booking again next year for sure.
Great day out on Waiheke! We started with a bush walk and then went to two wineries (Mudbrick and Castle Bay vineyards). Well organised, a delicious lunch at a Oneroa cafe, and a fantastic, knowledgeable guide (Justine). Very glad I booked and had a great day with Justine. Would definitely recommend to solo travellers who want to explore both Waiheke's outdoors and visit wineries.
Gabrielle guided us through Forest Therapy. I loved it all. We had silence invitations, talking to tree invitations and we built gratitude altars. I came away restored , soothed and felt very peaceful. Those feelings are still with me a week later. I hope they last. Research says they last a month. Thank you so much for this experience and I highly recommend it. The Manuka and kawakawa boiled water was refreshing at the end . We ate delicious chocolate and reflected. it was truly magical and uplifting. I highly recommend this session to everyone
A beautiful and relaxing way to enjoy the gulf. Bruce is a very knowledgeable skipper with years of experience. Gabrielle has been running Walking by Nature for many years and has a very deep understanding of the bush and all that is in it. Great food and a fabulous day out.
Meant to give Terra and Tide a ‘shout out’ a while back. What a great day of experiences!!! We chose to sail to the predatory free Tiritiri Matangi island which was fascinating. Could see birds up close and personal. Gab was enthusiastic and informative about the bird project there and fauna. Magical. The walk and nature experience were followed by a yummy lunch and swim off the side of the boat. Great adventure for sailors, water babies as well as environment enthusiasts. We felt very comfortable with Bruce at the helm, even when things got a little rough on the way back to Waiheke. Bruce was open to explain things to the sailing novice. Catamarans don’t keel over like single hulls. Very comfortable ride with views on the fore deck, cockpit or inside.
Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise with you in Pacific Star in the sunshine on the glittering Hauraki Gulf. We especially appreciated skipper Bruce and host Gabriella’s warm, welcoming manner and their efforts to ensure all on board had a special experience.
The boat is very well appointed, comfortable and provisioned with the best Waiheke has to offer.
Many thanks from Chris and Bob. We will be back!
This is a unique opportunity to combine sailing in the Hauraki Gulf and walk some trails in this magnificent environment. We had a fabulous day out on Pacific Star hosted by Bruce, a highly competent and relaxed skipped and his delightful wife, Gabrielle, with her profound knowledge of our native bird life and vegetation. Their 41 foot catamaran is very well appointed and comfortable and Gabrielle provided us with a delicious lunch on board. An unforgettable experience!

Sailing Waiheke with Blue Penguins - My husband and I had such a lovely time touring the islands around Waiheke for our honeymoon! Bruce and Gabrielle were such lovely hosts and we had an amazing time... read more learning about New Zealand wild life on our hike and seeing the ocean. They had a paddle board and kayak, which were fun to use in the Bay Area. We even saw blue penguins! Gabrielle made a fantastic lunch and charcuterie and we felt very much at home on the catamaran. Thank you for the hospitality and we look forward to coming back to New Zealand!

A Day on Waiheke Island - We had a wonderful day on Waiheke Island. Our guide, Nydia, was terrific. She was friendly, she told us all about the flora and fauna as well as... read more about Maori culture, the history of the island. She led us on a beautiful hike, which included a picnic and two wine tastings. She planned to take us back to the ferry, but when we said we would like to stay longer, she took us to a gorgeous beach. She recommended a restaurant for dinner. We like to bird watch, and on our return walk to the ferry at dusk we saw at least 7 new birds. My husband and I were joining a walking tour in Christchurch a few days later, and our day on Waiheke was the perfect beginning to our trip. Thank you!

Highly enjoyable introduction to cultural and natural highlights of the island. - Justine was super friendly and accomodating, and knowledgable about Maori culture and history as well as nature. She drove us to some interesting locations on the island, and after an... read more enjoyable walk through a magical fern-and Manuka forest we arrived at the Mudbrick vineyard for a wine tasting. We had another nature walk at a quiet beach, admired the 500 year old NZ Christmas tree, and then had a nice fresh lunch together. The day was relaxed, we could chat and learn about culture and history, and simply had a great day together. Highly recommended for a one day trip.

Beautiful Day on Waiheke - I had the best day touring Waiheke Island with Maria of Terra & Tide. We discussed my interests when we met and she tailored the day to fit... read more my interests. We visited wineries, an art gallery (and i bought a piece of art), a couple of beaches (I am a beach person) and did an olive oil tasting when i noticed and mentioned all of the olive trees on the island. Things I liked best about Maria include: she grew up and has lived and worked on the island, has a deep knowledge of the island and its history and can provide great stories of the island as you tour around the island from place to place; she often offered to take my photo when i was taking pictures and since i was traveling solo i truly appreciated that as most guides do not offer and you need to ask. I ended up loving Waiheke and thought i could easily live there and i think that's due, in part anyway as i was able to view the island through Maria's eyes.
